Purpose This Highways and Transport Masterplan for Central Lancashire sets out the county council¿s ideas for a future highways and transport strategy for central Lancashire to 2026 and beyond. It links economic development and spatial planning priorities to the wider strategic policy objectives of the county council and sets out how the county council proposes to fund and deliver the programme. The framework:
¿ outlines current land and transport use in central Lancashire;
¿ considers the impact of development plans on the area in the future, including the approved central Lancashire Local Development Framework Core Strategy;
¿ proposes the highway and transport measures the county council considers necessary to support future growth and development; and
¿ outlines funding mechanisms and delivery programmes and associated risks.
