Purpose The objective of this wave of Living in Lancashire was to gather panel members' opinions on the condition of roads and streets across Lancashire and on sexual health. In addition, a number of questions were asked on behalf of Lancashire Fairness Commission.

Key findings Roads and streets:

- around three-fifths of respondents (59%) are dissatisfied with the condition of road surfaces in their local area;
- around half of respondents (47%) feel the condition of road surfaces in their local area has stayed the same over the past six months;
- around half of respondents (48%) are satisfied with the condition of pavement surfaces in their local area;
- around three-fifths of respondents (62%) feel the condition of pavement surfaces in their local area has stayed the same over the past six months;
- around a third of respondents (32%) agree that the number of potholes on roads in their local area has reduced over the past six months while three-fifths of respondents (60%) disagree;
- three in ten respondents (30%) agree that the number of potholes on footpaths in their local area has reduced over the past six months while over half of respondents (55%) disagree;
- around a quarter of respondents (27%) agree that the overall quality of pothole repair has improved over the past six months while half of respondents (50%) disagree.

Sexual health

- around four-fifths of respondents strongly agree that when you have sex you should consider protection against sexually transmitted infections (79%) and that it's important to use a condom when you have sex with someone for the first time (78%).
- around two-thirds of respondents strongly agree that condoms are very effective in preventing HIV/AIDS (66%);
- the most commonly visited service to get contraception, advice about trying for children and advice about pregnancy is the GP surgery;
- the most commonly visited service to get advice about sexually transmitted infections (STIs) is a sexual health clinic (GUM clinic).
