Preston Western Distributor and East-West Link Road

New Search

Purpose The county council is now consulting on the pre-planning application of the preferred route for a 2.5 mile (4 kilometre) long dual carriageway known as the Preston Western Distributor (PWD) and associated link roads. This major new road will link Preston and southern Fylde to the M55 and the two link roads will connect to new and existing housing areas in northwest Preston and Cottam. Your views are important to us. We have written to about 8,000 residents and other occupiers in the area to ask their views. We will also be briefing relevant councillors, MPs, parish councils and local residents' groups.

A six week consultation will take place from Monday 4 January until Friday 12 February 2016.
