Transforming Friargate North and Ringway Public Engagement

New Search

Purpose As part of the successful Transforming Cities Fund bid, we have been awarded 14.7m pounds to regenerate the Friargate North and Ringway area.

The aim of the scheme is to reconnect both sides of the city to give a joined-up shopping and leisure experience. It will also change the way we travel into and around this part of Preston, enabling more people to catch the bus, walk and cycle.

Like other modern cities, we will be improving the look and feel of this area for people to shop, sit and relax and enjoy. It will create opportunities for cafes, bars and restaurants to provide outdoor seating as well as providing new spaces for outdoor markets and live events.

Design of these works will continue over the coming months, with the construction planned to start at the end of 2021 for completion by spring 2023.

We would like your comments to help us with the final details of the design.
