Wennington Hall Closure consultation
Purpose | This consultation is about the future of Wennington Hall School, Wennington, Lancaster, a community residential special school for pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. It is proposed that Lancashire County Council should discontinue its maintenance of Wennington Hall School. The Department for Education requires the local authority to follow the statutory procedures for discontinuance. It should also be noted that Lancashire County Council intends to transfer the premises to an independent provider upon discontinuance so that education provision can continue to be offered. Should the discontinuance be confirmed, but agreement with an independent provider is not in place, implementation of the decision on discontinuance will be delayed until arrangements are in place. |
