Purpose | The purpose of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) is to identify: Priorities for nature's recovery across a range of different habitat types and species The locations where there are opportunities to create, connect or improve habitat most likely to provide the greatest benefit for nature and the wider environment. This is the first nature recovery strategy for Lancashire. Reflecting global and national trends, Lancashire's biodiversity is declining. The strategy recognises the challenges we face in reversing this decline, but also the great opportunities we have for natures recovery and the benefits action can have, not only for our important landscapes, habitats and species, but for the people of Lancashire. It will be the guiding strategy for nature recovery, helping to target action as well as to help inform future policies and plans. The LNRS is not a delivery plan and does not place any obligations or restrictions on landowners. It does not add levels of designation to land and therefore does not assign any level of protection or restrictions on land use. We are seeking your views on the draft LNRS. Your feedback will be used to finalise the strategy before it is published later this year. All responses will remain anonymous. The results will be published after the consultation closes. Please submit your response by 3rd August 2025. |
